.
The Lagos State Advertising Agency (LASAA), under the leadership of Prince Fatiu Akiolu, has launched an innovative initiative to convert used outdoor advertisement flex and canvas materials into school bags for primary and high school pupils.
In collaboration with Omo Daadaa Foundation, a non-governmental organization (NGO), LASAA aims to promote sustainability, reduce waste, and support education in Lagos State.
A Pragmatic Approach to Climate Change.
Prince Fatiu Akiolu, Managing Director of LASAA, emphasized the agency's commitment to climate change mitigation and sustainable development. "As an organization, we recognize the importance of reducing our environmental footprint. This initiative demonstrates our dedication to achieving a zero-emissions Lagos."
Transforming Waste into Valuable Resources.
For years, outdoor advertisement materials have been discarded, often ending up in canals and harming the environment. LASAA's innovative approach will:
1. Recycle used flex and canvas materials into durable school bags.
2. Create jobs through the recycling process.
3. Promote eco-friendly practices in the advertising industry.
Call to Action
LASAA invites outdoor advertisement practitioners, media, and branding stakeholders to donate used campaign materials for recycling.
Distribution of Free LASAA School Bags.
The first batch of school bags will be distributed to selected schools across Lagos this week.
Partnership for a Greener Future.
LASAA's collaboration with Omo Daadaa Foundation marks a significant step towards achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
1. SDG 4: Quality Education
2. SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
3. SDG 13: Climate Action
"We are proud to pioneer this initiative, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and education. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener Lagos for future generations.
