OPEN LETTER TO ALIKO DANGOTE BY AUTHOR OF I SEE MONEY IN AFRICA
Dear Aliko Dangote.
As I reflect on your remarkable entrepreneurial journey, I am reminded of the African proverb, "Fall seven times, stand up eight"
Your story is a testament to the power of perseverance, and I am compelled to express my deepest admiration for your unwavering dedication to your vision.
In 2015, you attempted to revive the Port Harcourt refinery, but unfortunately, it didn't come to fruition.
Undeterred, you tried again in 2017 to build a refinery in Ondo State, but that too faced insurmountable challenges.
However, you didn't let those setbacks hold you back.
You regrouped and refocused, and in 2019, you began building the Dangote Refinery in Lekki, Lagos. But, as fate would have it, you faced even more daunting challenges:
- Securing crude oil from IOCs/NNPC/local and international oil cabals
- Overcoming obstacles from some evil civil servants
- Resisting opposition from oil importers
- Sourcing equipment from credible suppliers
- Overcoming stiff opposition from some western suppliers who sought to undermine your progress
Yet, despite these storms, you persevered. And today, your refinery stands as a beacon of hope and a shining example of entrepreneurial excellence.
Your journey teaches us that success is not final, and failure is not fatal.
It is the courage to continue that counts. You have shown us that with resilience and focus, we can overcome even the most formidable obstacles.
As I always say, "I SEE MONEY IN AFRICA." And I see it in your story, Aliko. You have created a masterpiece that will inspire generations to come.
Please keep pushing boundaries, and know that your legacy will continue to inspire us all.
Congratulations, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on your well-deserved triumph!
Sincerely
Olubunmi Oluwadare
