The recent announcement of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences has brought Iyin-Ekiti, a town in Ekiti State, Nigeria, into the spotlight. 


As the town prepares to host this prestigious institution, its website www.iyinekiti.com.ng has witnessed an unprecedented surge in visitors eager to learn more about this vibrant community.


It's no coincidence that Iyin-Ekiti is the first and only town with a functional website in the state and entire southwest Nigeria.


 This demonstrates that our town is tech-savvy and worthy of hosting the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences.


Iyin-Ekiti boasts a rich history, with its name meaning "praise" in the local dialect. 


The town has produced notable personalities, including former Governor of the Western State, General Robert Adeyinka Adebayo, and is home to several cultural and tourism sites, such as the Esa Cave, Abanijorin Mountain, and other unique tourist attractions.


As a proud son of Iyin-Ekiti, I am thrilled to see my hometown on the rise. The establishment of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences is poised to bring significant economic and social benefits to the community.


 With its rich history, cultural attractions, and now, a world-class university, Iyin-Ekiti is ready to take its rightful place on the national stage.


Under the royal leadership of the Oluyin of Iyin-Ekiti Kingdom, Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaiye, Oyinyosaiye Uyin III, our town is experiencing unprecedented development.


 As the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences is set to take off before the end of 2025, I implore Iyin-Ekiti residents and indigenes to be gracious hosts and accommodating, which is part of our cultural values.


Iyin-Ekiti is also home to many prominent sons and daughters, including Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the first democratically elected Governor of Ekiti State and former Minister of Industry,Trade and Investment, and Senator Bamidele Opeyemi, House Leader at the present Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria, who facilitated the establishment of the Federal University in Iyin-Ekiti.


As we celebrate this milestone, I invite you to join me and all Iyin-Ekiti sons and daughters to discover the hidden gems of Iyin-Ekiti.
