The work waiting for you abroad is also available back home, but you can't do it here because of ego and uncertainty that the payment is too low.
Many of you who want to japa abroad to drive Uber, work as caregivers, or do menial jobs hate such jobs back home.
The payment abroad is taxed to the latter and might be poorer than what you would be paid for such jobs back home.
Everything is about perception and belief.
If you believe you can't make it back home, even a high-paying job at NNPC won't guarantee your prosperity.
The developed world is designed to attract you from afar, until you enter the system and get hooked into the rat race that will use you till old age.
Value your nation and seek a knowledge economy to learn what to do, how to do it, and where to do it.
Lagos' GDP is now over $2 billion. Think very well before you japa.
But let's not forget our history.
Our forefathers and mothers were forcibly taken from our shores and sold into slavery.
After the abolition of slave trade, the Western world devised another strategy to exploit us.
They used religion to alter our perception, erase our history, culture, and traditions, and make us feel inferior.
They took our raw materials, processed them, and sold them back to us.
This cycle of exploitation has continued for centuries. It's time for us to break free from this cycle and reclaim our dignity.
Let's recognize the value of our nation, our culture, and our traditions.
Let's seek knowledge and understanding of our history and our strengths.
Let's work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and our children.
