The Enduring Legacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Enduring Legacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is a sophisticated and seasoned leader with a storied career spanning multiple sectors.

His journey, from his early days as an accountant at Mobil Oil to his current role as President, showcases his dedication, hard work, and strategic thinking.

As a democratic advocate, former Senator, and Governor, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to navigate complex socio-economic landscapes and build coalitions that transcend party lines.

A Legacy of Mentorship and Support.

President Tinubu has been instrumental in shaping the careers of many individuals in Nigeria and across Africa, using his vast network, knowledge, and resources to support those in need.

Many have benefited from his generosity and leadership guidance, and it's no wonder that they would find it difficult to support any efforts to unseat him.

A Personal Encounter.

During a working visit to his personal office in Victoria Island, Lagos few years ago, I was struck by the vast collection of leadership, philosophical, and historical books on his bookshelves. It was clear that this man had a mission and a deep understanding of the complexities of leadership.

Rethinking the Strategy.

In light of President Tinubu's achievements and influence, it's worth considering whether any alliance seeking to oust him from power in 2027 would be wise to rethink their strategy.

With over 80% of those forming a political alliance against him having been beneficiaries of his political godfatherism, having received money and direction from him at some point, it's essential to question the motivations behind such an alliance.

A Rare Trait.

President Tinubu's selflessness and willingness to sacrifice his own presidential ambitions at several times for others is a rare trait in today's Nigerian political ecosystem.

This quality alone demands respect, honor, and consideration.

A Call for Constructive Dialogue.

Given the current economic challenges facing the country, it's essential to allow President Tinubu to complete his 8-year term before making any judgments about his performance.

Rather than seeking to unseat him, perhaps it's time to focus on building a more constructive dialogue and holding our leaders accountable.

A Broader Perspective.

It's time to enlighten our youth population that political leadership for good governance is multidimensional in nature.

We have state and local governments whose responsibility is far more significant than the Federal Government.

36 state governments and 774 local governments collect monthly FAAC allocations to foster development in their respective states and local governments.

It's only naive individuals who would push all the bad governance or leadership experienced in Nigeria today to the President and his team alone.

In my Conclusion.

While there may be valid reasons to critique or oppose President Tinubu's policies, it's essential to acknowledge his achievements and the impact he has had on the lives of many Nigerians.

Let's focus on building a more constructive dialogue and demanding accountability from our leaders.
