Iyin-Ekiti Kingdom Day 2025- A Celebration of Unity and Progress.
Iyin-Ekiti Kingdom, a prominent town in Ekiti State,South West Nigeria is renowned for its rich history and notable sons. One of its illustrious sons, Late General Adeyinka Adebayo, served as the Military Governor of Western States in the 1960s, catapulting the town to national prominence.
Since then, Iyin-Ekiti has remained in the spotlight, and its people continue to make significant contributions to the nation's development.
A Dual Celebration.
This year, the Iyin-Ekiti Kingdom Day celebration coincides with two momentous occasions: the 5th anniversary of His Royal Majesty Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaiye JP Oyinyosaiye Uyin III's ascension to the throne and the 75th anniversary of the kingdom's unification.
The festivities, which commenced on October 27th, will culminate in a grand finale at the Oluyin of Iyin-Ekiti palace on November 1st.
A Gathering of Dignitaries.
The event will bring together sons and daughters of Iyin-Ekiti, high-ranking dignitaries, and visitors to celebrate the kingdom's unity and progress.
A key highlight of the occasion is the raising of N1 billion in developmental funding to execute value-added initiatives in the town. The Oluyin of Ekiti will also confer chieftaincy titles on prominent individuals.
Two illustrious sons of Iyin-Ekiti, Asiwaju Adeniyi Adebayo and Senator Opeyemi Bamidele CON, will co-host the event with His Royal Majesty Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaiye JP.
The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Abayomi Oyabanji, will also grace the occasion with other top government officials.
