MADE IN EKITI INITIATIVE - THE ONLY VERITABLE TOOL FOR WEALTH CREATION IN EKITI STATE.
MADE IN EKITI INITIATIVE - THE ONLY VERITABLE TOOL FOR WEALTH CREATION IN EKITI STATE.
Five years ago, I launched the "Made in Ekiti" initiative, driven by a deep understanding of Ekiti State's strengths and weaknesses. After conducting a thorough study of the state, I realized that embracing massive entrepreneurship development was the key to unlocking its full potential.
By fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, we could create wealth, generate jobs, drive infrastructural development, and provide innovative solutions to our socio-economic challenges.
Traditionally, Ekiti State has been known for its emphasis on education, civil service, and politics. While these are important aspects of our state's identity, they alone cannot build a prosperous state of our dreams.
It was clear that a new approach was needed, one that would empower our youth population to seek knowledge, acquire skills, and tap into their talents.
The "Made in Ekiti" initiative goes beyond mere rhetoric. Its core objective is to harness our natural resources, huge human capital, cultural heritage, and traditions to foster wealth creation and end poverty.
By doing so, we can create a thriving economy that benefits all citizens.
If well-embraced, I firmly believe that this initiative can yield remarkable results.
Within two years, it has the potential to create over 260,000 job opportunities, significantly boosting the state's economic prospects. Additionally, I estimate that the state's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) could increase by N1.2 billion monthly within the same timeframe.
Moreover, the initiative would attract massive investment from Ekiti State's diaspora community, encouraging them to return home and contribute to the state's economic growth.
By converting our educational knowledge into an entrepreneurship-driven knowledge economy, we can create wealth and unlock new opportunities for our citizens.
Unfortunately, the initiative has not been well-embraced by the Government of Ekiti State to date.
Nevertheless, I remain committed to this vision, and I believe that with the right support and partnerships, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Ekiti people.
As we look to the future, it is essential that we prioritize entrepreneurship development and empower our youth to drive economic growth.
Together, we can build a prosperous Ekiti State that is truly worthy of our dreams.
