While we thank God Almighty for the peace and honor bestowed upon our land, it's evident that much work remains to be done. REFLECTING ON THE PAST, FOCUSING ON THE FUTURE. It's time for our state to prioritize good leadership and governance over political processes.  As we mark this milestone, our focus should shift towards eradicating poverty, hunger, unemployment, insecurity, and improving industrialization, social amenities, and infrastructure. A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR ALL. By prioritizing the welfare of our citizens and investing in the state's future, we can create a brighter future for all Ekiti State residents.  It's time for our leaders to put the needs of the people first and work towards building a prosperous and sustainable Ekiti State. The Harsh Reality of "May Nigeria Never Happen to You"

Image
The Harsh Reality of "May Nigeria Never Happen to You" The acronym popular among young Nigerians, "May Nigeria Never Happen to You," is more than just a phrase – it's a reflection of the country's leadership failure and bad governance, which permeate Nigeria's socio-economic challenges. A Tragic Reminder. The recent untimely death of Sommiee, an AriseTV staff member, serves as a poignant reminder of the phrase's significance.  She had tweeted "May Nigeria never happen to me" just before her tragic demise, which occurred during an armed robbery invasion in the Katampe area of Abuja.  The circumstances surrounding her death are alarming, particularly given the city's heavy security presence as the nation's capital. Systemic Failures. Reports suggest that the police response was inadequate, and a hospital allegedly refused to provide emergency care.  This tragedy highlights the need for introspection and accountability. In a sane nati...

September 22nd, 2025 An Open Letter to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Ekiti State Governor. Biodun Oyebanji   Dear Mr Governor. Good morning, Mr. Governor. Let me first introduce myself to Your Excellency again. My name is Asiwaju Olubunmi Oluwadare, National Business Development Service Provider (NBDSP), Serial Entrepreneur, Author, and Founder of various businesses from Ekiti State. As someone who has been watching the socio-economic development in Ekiti State for over 26 years now, I see that our state is not moving forward as it ought to be because we have played politics with everything.  Our state is renowned for being a fountain of knowledge, but such knowledge should be for wealth creation, not poverty creation.  We have a plethora of talented Ekiti State individuals, scholars & entrepreneurs who have skills and expertise to drive economic growth and development, but the state government doors are perpetually closed to them due to bureaucratic ...

Misplaced Priorities- Ekiti's N3.8 Billion Housing Project for a Non-Operational Airport.

Misplaced Priorities-  Ekiti's N3.8 Billion Housing Project for a Non-Operational Airport. The recent allocation of N3.8 billion for housing development at the yet-to-takeoff Ekiti State Airport raises serious questions about the state's budgetary priorities.  Given the state's pressing socio-economic challenges, including unemployment, poverty, poor social amenities, and hunger, it is disheartening to witness such wasteful expenditure. The Airport's Non-Operational Status. Nearly three years after its commissioning, the airport remains non-operational, with no airlines showing interest due to the prevailing economic situation.  The high cost of air travel in Nigeria further deters potential operators. Moreover, Ekiti's economic landscape lacks the robust export-oriented industries that would justify a cargo airport. Alternative Uses for Funds. The N3.8 billion allocation could be better utilized to empower over 2,000 Ekiti entrepreneurs and SMEs, creating jobs and...

The True Meaning of the Awo Cap- A Symbol of Visionary Leadership and Entrepreneurial Governance

Image
The True Meaning of the Awo Cap- A Symbol of Visionary Leadership and Entrepreneurial Governance The Awo cap, a symbol of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo's legacy, represents a visionary leader with an entrepreneurial mindset for good governance.  Awolowo's leadership and lifestyle were characterized by a strong emphasis on vision-powered entrepreneurship, which ultimately gave birth to a knowledge-based economy, education, industrialization, and inclusive governance. Awolowo's Ideology- Converting Resources to Needs  At the heart of Awolowo's ideology was the belief in converting natural and human resources to meet the needs of the people.  He demonstrated this through his leadership, generating revenue via agricultural produce and natural resources, and growing the local economy to make it enviable among other regions in Nigeria. A Departure from Dependence on Federal Allocation. Unlike many leaders, Awolowo did not wait for allocation from the federal government. ...
