An Open Letter to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR .
Mr. President, Good evening, Your Excellency.
I strongly believe that only those who want your administration to fail would suggest ignoring President Trump's threat of a potential military invasion against terrorists killing many Nigerians.
America has the willpower to act on its threat, and the outcome might be regrettable for us all.
Mr. President, I kindly suggest that you declare a state of emergency on insecurity across Nigeria in the coming weeks. To address this issue effectively, I recommend the following steps:
1. Summon all 36 state governors, 774 local government chairmen, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth leaders, and security stakeholders to a one-day brainstorming session in Abuja immediately.
2. Ban open grazing across Nigeria and give a marching order to all herdsmen in our forests to come out for proper identification and empowerment.
3. Prosecute and jail those already arrested as sponsors and funders of terrorism/kidnappings in Nigeria.
4. Stop amnesty for the so-called repentant Boko Haram members.
5. Hold governors and local government chairmen accountable for insecurity in their various territories and push for the impeachment of such governors through their state's assemblies.
6. Withhold 10% of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) allocations for six months from November 2025 to fight terrorism and kidnapping across Nigeria.
7. Use executive orders to kick-start community policing and open up a portal for immediate recruitment.
8. Be tough against the enemies of our nation and hold weekly security briefings going forward.
9. Engage in strategic enforcement of good governance across all 36 states and 774 local governments in Nigeria.
10. Invoke executive orders against corruption in Nigeria.
I am not a fan of President Donald Trump, but I think we truly deserve his recent attention.
It's long overdue for us to end terrorist killings in Nigeria.
We deserve good governance, reduced poverty, hunger, unemployment, and improved infrastructure across our nation.
We are super blessed with the resources needed to be a wealthy nation.
President Tinubu, please re-watch the documentary on America's military invasion of Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and Yemen.
Those advising your Excellency to ignore President Trump's threat are the real enemies of Nigeria. "There's an important message in every message."
No doubt, Your Excellency is doing a yeoman's job in nearly all socio-economic sectors, but the other two tiers of government (states and local governments) are not helping, hence the visible socio-economic challenges that are still attracting both local and international attention.
God bless Nigeria, and God protect President Tinubu.
Best regards
Asiwaju Olubunmi Oluwadare, NBDSP
